AWARENESS
Around the world, April 10 is known as World Homeopathy Day, marking the
anniversary of the birth of
Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, in 1755. It also marks the beginning of the
World Homeopathy Awareness
Week, which is celebrated in many countries around the world. In
Canada, we celebrate Homeopathy Awareness Month during
the whole month of April.
The Hahnemann Memorial in Washington, DC, commemorates the life and
accomplishments of Samuel Hahnemann. Located on the edge of Scott
Circle, the impressive monument consists of a life-sized bronze statue
and bas reliefs, with a stunning glass mosaic arching in the
background. See other views of the Hahnemann
Memorial HERE.
Commissioned by the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH), the Memorial was
first dedicated on June 21, 1900 and
re-dedicated exactly a century later on June 21, 2000. Since then
the AIH raised funds to support a restoration project to reverse recent neglect
and deterioration to various parts of the
Memorial. MORE
